PRE-KINDER AND KINDERGARTEN
Children go through this precious phase in which they start to learn to express and communicate through basic language skills. It is a time when they discover that they belong to a community that goes beyond their family unit. They start becoming aware of their autonomy. At Summit Academy, we adapt our classrooms and educational methods to develop students’ abilities and skills and prepare them for the transition towards Elementary School. Children play and learn at the same time through hands-on activities, collaborative work and interactive learning. Our classrooms are divided in different areas that provide a variety of activities to enhance students’ learning in all areas including math, science, drama, manipulatives, blocks, legos, computer and reading.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
This is a time when children begin their journey towards personal growth and preparation for life. Students are challenged to meet academic standards which require discipline and hard work. At Summit Academy, we are committed to implementing the best educational practices to help each student to not only excel academically, but also motivate them to become leaders. We are aware that times are changing and that the younger generations’ learning abilities call for new teaching strategies. We are not afraid of innovation, which is why we design our classrooms to promote collaborative work and interaction. Academic subjects are reinforced through STEM and Learning Centers.
FACULTY
We train our teachers to adopt our educational philosophy in their classrooms, promoting their creativity and innovation in their teaching methods. Our teachers are committed to working hard on becoming living examples of our School’s values. Their interest in each student’s overall growth inspires them to find new ways to connect with students throughout the learning process. Our teachers’ love and belief in the power of education motivates students to learn day in and day out.
A Complete Curriculum
STEM LAB
Our Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Lab serves as a powerful tool to enhance students’ critical thinking, problem solving and innovation skills that will stay with them throughout their entire lives, whether they eventually choose to study a related career or not. Our classroom is fully equipped with advanced technology to introduce children to this evolving sphere in our modern-day world. We are in partnership with Forward Learning, that provides trainings and equipment for the school.
MUSIC LESSONS
We give the students a holistic learning experience by opening up opportunities to develop all aspects of their intellect, including music. Learning the basics of music has many benefits for students’ brain development, growth in human connection and even stress relief.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
We believe that it’s important to children’s well-being and development to provide a solid physical education class. Physical education enables them to enhance their motor skills, reflexes and coordination. Our indoor school court is spacious enough for students to move freely during their routines and sports activities.
EMOTIONAL AFFECTION EDUCATION PROJECT
We developed this project to help our students achieve balanced self-esteem, enabling them to have confidence in their abilities and talents, understand their own emotions and those of others, and establish fulfilling interpersonal relationships. This will empower them to manage their emotions effectively, learn to communicate assertively, and relate to others as successfully as possible. Our goal is for our students to leave school with confidence, knowing how to empathize with others, defend their position respectfully, and engage in positive interpersonal relationships
